Vivek Chovatiya is a graduate of B.Sc. (Hons.) Forestry from Navsari Agricultural University, Gujarat, India, where he was awarded the Vice Chancellor’s Gold Medal. He has worked at the Institute of Forest Biodiversity (ICFRE), focusing on assessing farm forestry and its long-term socio-economic viability. Additionally, he researches long-term ecological monitoring data of dry deciduous forests in Telangana. He has also worked on carbon credit assessments for plantations and conducted socio-economic surveys of forest-dependent communities in Gir, Gujarat.

Motivated by a commitment to climate justice and inclusive conservation, he aims to advance equitable forest governance, conservation finance, and forest ecosystem research across India and the Global South.
