Aathma is an advocate who graduated from Gujarat National Law University. After law school, she worked at the intersection of politics and policy, leading election strategy for political parties. Most recently, she worked at Project 39A, a research centre at National Law University, Delhi, where she represented death row convicts before the Supreme Court of India—securing two acquittals and multiple commutations. During the pandemic, she co-founded Lawyers-Go-Probono, mobilizing 50+ volunteers to assist over 300 people with legal aid. Her experiences span legal advocacy, political consulting, and grassroots organizing. Aathma is deeply committed to advancing women’s political leadership and economic empowerment.

At Oxford, she will focus on integrating law, technology, and evidence-based governance, with the aim of returning to India to strengthen institutions that enable women to lead.
