Lamiya is Senior Legal Counsel at the Ipoteka Bank Group in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. She was previously the Commissioner for Protecting the Rights of Entrepreneurs under the President of Uzbekistan, and prior to that, the Leading Inspector for the Coordination of Inspections of Business Activities, Uzbekistan. She has a BA (Hons.) in Commercial Law and Master of Laws from Westminster International University, Tashkent. Lamiya is particularly interested in the rule of law and economic development, the connection between stable and predictable legal frameworks, and generating an appropriate environment for economic growth. She aspires to become a legislator and participate in her country’s institutional reform.
