Yulia completed her studies in Oxford in 2013. In addition to her MPhil, she also has a BA in International Relations and Journalism from the American University in Bulgaria, which she completed in 2011, having been awarded an Open Society Institute merit-based scholarship. Her core research interest lies in the field of education and behavioural change. She has previously worked as an education project manager, university tutor and summer camp counsellor. She has also volunteered at the Bulgarian Helsinki Committee, a human rights organisation, and this experience has strengthened her belief that sound research and skilful communication can bring about changes in policy that increase public good. Yulia is currently studying for a PhD at the Institute for Criminology, Cambridge.

Currently, she is a Postdoctoral Research Office at the University of Oxford. ​
