Yawar holds a BA in Politics and English Literature from the University of Peshawar, an MA and MPhil in Politics from the Government College University (Lahore). He is currently the Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad. He was previously the Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Pakistan in Athens, and Head of Pakistan’s Mission in Mashhad (Iran) and served as Third Secretary in Jordan. He has taught at different universities in Pakistan. He was a debater at university, magazine editor at professional training institutions and has written for newspapers. He has worked extensively with refugees and migrants.

Yawar is currently based in Islamabad, Pakistan.
