Tamarie is a senior medical officer in Surgery at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, the only National Tertiary Care Hospital in Belize. She was awarded a BSc Medical Sciences (Dist.) in 2013 and MBBS in 2015 from The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus as a University Open Scholar. As a young professional who grew up in one of the most poverty-stricken communities in Belize City, she has always sought to give back to society through her unique set of skills and knowledge. Her interest in literacy and mentorship of children within marginalized Belizean communities led her to create Refinery Kids Belize alongside a close group of friends. Through partnership with other children’s Charities, Refinery Kids identifies academically struggling students who require scholarly support and guidance by mentors of different professions. In 2019, Dr Rocke was invited to be the CMO of Belize Heroes, an organization which trains laypersons living within the Belize River Valley Rural community in Emergency rescue techniques, in order to form volunteer rescue squads.
