Quratulain from Pakistan was part of the first female cohort of commissioned officers in the Pakistan Airforce where she worked on active service for eight years in the terrorism-strickern Province of Khyberpukhtukhwah. In 2010, she joined the Pakistan Administrative Service as a Civil Servant and since then she has worked in various rural areas of Pakistan, implementing public policies. She is particularly proud of the policies for women which she has worked on, such as creating safe spaces for low income women within the community as well as computer training facilities in a public orphanage and women’s shelter. She is currently heading two agriculture-related projects for the government of Punjab. One is a study to create a gender-inclusive integrated development plan of Punjab’s arid zone and the other is strengthening the database for governmental water resource development using GIS techniques and GNSS mapping of rain water reservoirs in Punjab’s arid region.

Quratulain holds an MBA Finance degree and MSc International Relations degree. She has authored a number of research papers on energy and bureaucratic reform, as well as foreign policy and governance issues in Pakistan. She is Co-Founder for Women4PeaceTech, which is an organization empowering women through technology use for positive peace in Pakistan .She was named Aspen New Voices Fellow 2018, Build Peace Fellow 2017-18 and Oxford Global Leadership Initiative Fellow 2016.
