Mojca is a Research Associate at the Institute of Criminology Ljubljana and an Assistant Professor for Criminology and Criminal Law at the University of Ljubljana, where she also got her law degree. Whilst studying, she worked as a journalist and editor for RTV Slovenia. She came to Oxford to read the MSc in Criminology and criminal justice. She graduated with a thesis on sentencing in civil law jurisdictions.

She continued researching sentencing as a junior researcher at the Institute of Criminology Ljubljana and finished her PhD at the University of Ljubljana in 2013. Since then, she has worked as an associate researcher at the Institute of Criminology Ljubljana and assistant professor at the University of Ljubljana. She has since held visiting positions at the Universities of Triest (Italy), Cambridge and Warwick and is an active member of the international research community.

Mojca is currently based in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

The Weidenfeld scholarship and the people I met through it have helped sensitise me to broader issues of social justice and equality, think of the bigger picture when making small changes, and always strive for a better future whichever way possible.
