In 2014 she co-founded the School of Public Life in Hungary, which aims to improve the country’s democratic culture through education and training for people who have been socially excluded. The School help citizens dedicated to building a democratic and just Hungary, especially members of marginalised communities and those working on their behalf to organise themselves and stand up for their rights effectively.

Currently, Mariann is a Senior Policy Advisor in the Ministry of Justice in the UK. She is based in London.
