Claudia is a Peruvian medical doctor passionate about social justice. She graduated from Cayetano Heredia University in the top 10% of her class. Claudia has experience serving marginalized communities as a rural physician, and working on several health research projects focused on underserved populations. Most recently, Claudia worked on a WHO research project to strengthen the climate resilience of health systems in the Peruvian Amazon by working with Indigenous leaders and communities.

After Oxford, Claudia intends to pursue a career in global health to address health inequalities experienced by Indigenous and rural populations through socially innovative and evidence-based interventions. She is particularly interested in developing art-based methods to strengthen health equity advocacy in Latin America.
