MSc Biodiversity, Conservation and Management, 2017
Pembroke College
Funding: Louis Dreyfus

Carolina completed her MSc in Biodiversity, Conservation and Management at Oxford in 2017. She also holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de los Andes in Colombia which helps her bring an interdisciplinary focus to conservation issues. Before going to Oxford to study, she worked with the World Wildlife Fund – WWF Colombia, for two years on green growth and climate change policy specifically with companies and cities.

During her MSc she gained a critical understanding of biodiversity science and the socio-economic, political, cultural, and institutional environments in which management and policy decisions are made in conservation. Additionally, she acquired a strong interest in the conservation of wildlife and biodiversity through the use of new technologies.

Carolina has been back to work for the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) in late 2021 after a 9-month break. Since being back in Namibia and CCF, she has been mainly focusing on curating the life events (birth dates, holdings, captures, medical transfers, deaths, collaring, relationships etc.) of each cheetah that the organisation has handled since its foundation in 1990.

Carolina is based in Namibia.
