Lana has a BA in International Relations (2006) with distinction from the University of Pretoria in South Africa and from a joint European Master’s in Local Development from the University of Trento, Italy (2011).

Lana is currently a Youth Research and Policy Officer, at the EU-Council of Europe youth partnership, in Brussels, where she is responsible for managing the Pool of European Youth Researchers (PEYR) and European Platform on Learning Mobility. Lana coordinates policy-aimed research on topics of youth political participation, education for democratic citizenship, sustainability and the use of digital tools for the social inclusion of young people, overseeing and contributing to numerous publications and analytical papers.

Before joining the youth partnership, Lana was a member of the Pool of European Youth Researchers (PEYR) and she consulted with various international and non-governmental organisations, including UNICEF, UNDP, Oxfam, Save the Children, and European Youth Forum and SALTO SEE, and has worked with young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina, South-East Europe, Europe, Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Lana is based in Brussels, Belgium.

Since graduating with MPhil, I contributed to various research, evaluation and analysis in Bosnia and Herzegovina and SEE, including consulting with UNICEF and UNDP BiH on active citizenship in local communities child rights and youth participation in reconciliation and development processes.
